I’m a writer, speaker, and public servant dedicated to fostering civic leadership and rebuilding trust in civic life through transparency, accountability, and understanding.
My work lies at the intersection of government, communication, and community engagement. With over a decade of experience across four state governments, I’ve witnessed firsthand how policy decisions impact real lives and how much stronger our communities become when citizens understand how government actually works.
However, my perspective extends beyond the halls of government. I’ve served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children navigating the foster system, collaborated with animal protection and rescue organizations, cared for my father at the end of his life, and navigated my own battle with neurological Lyme disease—an experience that revealed both the failures and potential of our healthcare systems.
After a career spent within government and a lifetime balancing public service with motherhood, I bring a unique blend of professional insight and personal perspective to my work. That same balance influences the keynote speech I deliver today, urging for civic courage and participation in both local and national life.
This site embodies that mission—a space for Letters to the Editor transformed into Civic Columns, summaries of local board meetings, and reflections on civic leadership, women’s empowerment, and the everyday courage it takes to remain engaged.
It’s a gathering place for individuals who still believe that good ideas and honest conversation can lead to real change because meaningful progress always begins close to home.
